Since April 2020 I have had to revert 20 attempts to add a non-free image to this article, so perhaps an edit notice might help? Format and information copied from {{Editnotices/Page/President of Singapore}}, if there is a more appropriate way of doing it feel free to amend.
{{mbox|type=content|text='''''Please do not''''' insert non-free images of Jeremy Thorpe into [[1970 United Kingdom general election]], as the use of such images is normally not considered fair use. For more information see "[[Wikipedia:Non-free content#Non-free image use in galleries or tables]]", and for help please leave a message at "[[Talk:1970 United Kingdom general election]]".}}

- @FDW777: Have you considered adding a HTML note next to the liberal candidate picture? ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 13:57, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- @ProcrastinatingReader: I've done this, as it can't really hurt. firefly ( t · c ) 14:07, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you both. I've added similar HTML comments to February 1974 United Kingdom general election and October 1974 United Kingdom general election which are similarly affected, hopefully that might negate the need for edit notices on those articles. FDW777 (talk) 14:28, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
